Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.011625

Remarks: The spectrum consists of a strong blue continuum with narrow host emission lines. As such, we classify it as a probable young SN II, although we note that at early times there can be confusion between young SNe II and young SNe Ib/c (see SN 2021yja classification reports). The B-band absolute magnitude approximately coeval with this spectrum is -16.0 (apparent magnitude 18.0, from LCO photometry). Further followup of this nearby rising source is recommended.
