Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Craig Pellegrino, Giacomo Terreran report/s a classification of object: SN 2022yyc

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.062

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to SNe Ia before maximum light, including SN 2006N and SN 2008Q. The supernova's redshift was computed using SNID which gave approximately 0.062 (since the information on it's closest galaxy is not available). A Si II 6355 velocity of approximately 10,000 km/s using SNID's redshift . Adopting the luminosity distance computed from this redshift (279.8 Mpc ) ; the g-band absolute magnitude of the object is -17 (apparent magnitude 20.39 from ZTF). This absolute magnitude (accounting that the SN's magnitude is on the rise) and velocity is consistent with an SN Ia before maximum light.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:
