Panos Charalampopoulos (University of Turku) report/s a classification of object: SN 2023grn
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.049
Remarks: We report the classification of AT2023grn as a Ia supernova based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2023-05-03 (i.e., MJD 60067.86). The transient is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. Comparison with a library of supernovae spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) and GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008 2008A&A...488..383H), suggests AT2023grn is an around-peak SN Ia at a redshift of z~0.049.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2023-05-03 20:44:16
Instrument: ALFOSC
Telescope: Nordic Optical Telescope
