Group: FLEET
Sebastian Gomez (STScI), Griffin Hosseinzadeh (Arizona) report/s a classification of object: SN 2023ktu
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.067
Remarks: The nuclear transient 2023ktu was selected as a possible TDE by our FLEET program with a P(TDE) = 0.40 (Gomez et al., 2023, ApJ, 949, 113). The redshift of z = 0.067 was determined from host emission lines. We find a best match to the Type Ia SN 1999dq using SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2023-06-21 13:37:21
Instrument: BC-Bok
Telescope: Bok Telescope
Remarks: Flux redwards of ~6600 Angstroms is affected by a problem with the standard star and its absolute value in this region is therefore not reliable.
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2023ktu
