Jason Hinkle on behalf of SCAT report/s a classification of object: TDE 2023lli

Type: TDE
Redshift: 0.036

Remarks: Broad (~15,000 km/s) H emission at z = 0.036 and possible He emission. Deep Balmer absorption consistent with a quiescent Balmer strong host galaxy. ASAS-SN and ATLAS photometry show the source to be on the rise over the last 2 weeks. At the current magnitude of g ~ 18.6 mag and accounting for moderate foreground extinction the source has an absolute magnitude of ~ -17.8 mag. The transient and host properties suggest a TDE classification.
