15384 2023-08-14 20:13:44 Joseph Farah Joseph Farah (UCSB/LCO), Craig Pellegrino, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Megan Newsome, Estefania Padilla Gonzalez, Giacomo Terreran None SN II 0.014 1 The spectrum shows a narrow H-alpha in emission (indicating Type II), with a corresponding P-cygni feature corresponding to an ejecta velocity of ~1.5e4 km/s, consistent with a young SN Type II. The position of the supernova near the center of an edge-on host is the likely cause of the substantial extinction in the blue observed in the spectrum. We estimate the redshift (~0.014) from the narrow H-alpha line, which is consistent with the known distance to host ESO 142-G022 (z~0.0136, 1982ESOU..C...0000L; value from NED). Additional followup is encouraged. 2023TNSCR1960....1F
