I. Pérez-Fournon (IAC and ULL), V. Wienzek, H. Akoudad-Ekajouan, C. Arrizabalaga-Díaz-Caneja (ULL), F. Poidevin (IAC and ULL), Z. Delgado-González (ULL), C. Jiménez Angel (GRANTECAN), S. Geier (GRANTECAN, IAC, and ULL), R. Marques-Chaves (Univ. of Geneva), and R. Shirley (MPE) on behalf of SGLF report/s a classification of object: SN 2024ljc
Type: SNRedshift: 0.015157
Remarks: Likely young SN in the triple irregular galaxy NGC 6745 (UGC 11391). The LT SPRAT spectrum has a red continuum, likely due to obscuration and reddening in the host galaxy, and emission lines from the host galaxy. The transient is at about 5.6" from NGC 6745A, the largest galaxy of the trio of interacting galaxies with spectroscopic redshift of 0.015157 (Zaw et al. 2019, ApJ, 872, 134; info from NED).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-06-17 02:57:11
