Date Received (UTC): 2024-08-12 18:49:24 Sender: Sebastian Gomez
Group: FLEET
Sebastian Gomez (Harvard CfA), Daichi Hiramatsu (Harvard CfA), Edo Berger (Harvard CfA), Harsh Kumar (Harvard CfA), Peter Blanchard (Harvard CfA) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024qud
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.13
Remarks: 2024qud was selected as a possible TDE by our FLEET program with a P(TDE) = 0.70 (Gomez et al., 2023, ApJ, 949, 113). The redshift of z = 0.13 was determined from a C&H doublet. We find a best match to Type Ia SN 2013dy ~6 days after peak using NGSF (AstroNote 2022-191), which agrees with the peak magnitude of the transient of M_r ~ -1.97.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2024-08-09 00:00:00
Instrument: LDSS-3
Telescope: Landon T. Clay Magellan 6.5-m telescope (LCO)
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2024qud
