20662 2025-03-28 17:18:42 Panos Charalampopoulos Panos Charalampopoulos None TDE 0.089 1 We report the tentative classification of AT2025eve as a Tidal Disruption Event (TDE) based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2025-03-25 (i.e., MJD 60760.03). The transient is rising and is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. At a redshift of 0.089, we identify strong absorption lines of CaII H&K, the Balmer series, and NaI D. We tentatively detect broad Halpha, and a blend of broad Hbeta, HeII 4686 and potentially NIII. Comparison with a library of transient spectra using NGSF (Next Generation SuperFit; AstroNote 2022-191, Howell et al. 2005 2005ApJ...634.1190H), returns matches with different transient types dominated by the host galaxy contribution. The best match is with a TDE (2019qiz) that was 23 days post its peak however. We also have a good match with iPTF16fnl 1 day before its peak, however this was a faint TDE while AT2025eve is currently at an absolute g-band magnitude of Mg ~ -19.5 (based on our redshift estimate and corrected for MW extinction; Av=0.087). The last g-r colour was ~ -0.26. We note that the target got independently selected as a candidate TDE by the Neural Engine for Discovering Luminous Events (NEEDLE) classifier (Sheng et al. 2024; DOI: 10.1093/mnras/stae1253), a machine-learning tool for identifying rare astronomical transients from real-time alerts. In their Astronote (#2025-102), they report that the u-g colour of the transient is u-g = -0.15 +/- 0.04, further supporting the TDE interpretation for AT2025eve. 2025TNSCR1196....1C
