Simon de Wet report/s a classification of object: SN 2026fns
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.03
Remarks: SNID SAGE (Stoppa in prep, 2025) shows matches to the II-pec SN 1987A and IIb SN 1996cb at a redshift of ~0.03. Apparent absorption due to He I at the peak of the H alpha emission feature would favour a IIb classification. However, due to the low signal-to-noise of our observations, we refrain from assigning a sub-type.
