Jacob Wise (LJMU), Daniel Perley (LJMU), Aleksandra Bochenek (LJMU), Zoe McGrath (LJMU), Yogesh Wagh (LJMU), K-Ryan Hinds (Caltech) report/s a classification of object: SN 2026knt
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.0443
Remarks: Spectrum is well-fit to template spectra from previously classified SNe Ia post-peak. Redshift of z = 0.0443 ± 0.0010 from weak Na D absorption. Allowing the redshift to vary freely in the template fitting, we find a redshift of z = 0.045 ± 0.004, which we take as confirmation of the former's validity. Classification performed using Next Generation Superfit (NGSF, Goldwasser et al. 2022).
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2026-05-20 22:52:23
Instrument: SPRAT
Telescope: Liverpool Telescope
