Group: None
Panos Charalampopoulos report/s a classification of object: SN 2023pcs
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.056
Remarks: Remarks: We report the classification of AT2023pcs as a Ia supernova based on an optical spectrum obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2023-08-27 (i.e., MJD 60183.17). The transient is coincident with the nucleus of the host galaxy. Comparison with a library of supernovae spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), suggests AT2023pcs is an around-peak SN Ia at a redshift of z~0.056.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2023-08-27 04:02:50
Instrument: ALFOSC
Telescope: Nordic Optical Telescope
Details of the object and its spectra can be viewed here: https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2023pcs
