Shirley (Univ. of Southampton) on behalf of the SGLF SLSN group SGLF SLSN-II 0.4846 1 SGLF AT 2023vto (ZTF23abcvbqq) was selected for spectroscopic classification with GTC OSIRIS+ as a SLSN candidate from the slowly evolving ZTF light curve, the ALeRCE light curve classification and the faint likely host galaxy. The redshift of z = 0.4846 was determined from Mg II absorption in the reported GTC OSIRIS+ R2000B spectrum. Another OSIRIS+ spectrum using the R2500R VPH grism shows absorption lines from the host galaxy and faint Hbeta emission at a redshift consistent with the Mg II one. Therefore, we classify this transient as a type II SLSN. 2023TNSCR3050....1P
