Könyves-Tóth (Konkoly Observatory, Univ. of Szeged), R. Marques-Chaves (Univ. of Geneva), C. M. B. Omand (The Oskar Klein Centre), and R. Shirley (Univ. of Southampton) on behalf of the SGLF SLSN group report/s a classification of object: SN 2023vto
Type: SLSN-IIRedshift: 0.4846
Remarks: AT 2023vto (ZTF23abcvbqq) was selected for spectroscopic classification with GTC OSIRIS+ as a SLSN candidate from the slowly evolving ZTF light curve, the ALeRCE light curve classification and the faint likely host galaxy. The redshift of z = 0.4846 was determined from Mg II absorption in the reported GTC OSIRIS+ R2000B spectrum. Another OSIRIS+ spectrum using the R2500R VPH grism shows absorption lines from the host galaxy and faint Hbeta emission at a redshift consistent with the Mg II one. Therefore, we classify this transient as a type II SLSN.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2023-11-21 22:30:53
